The NCCA has an a world wide reputation based on 20 international festival screenings, 27 international television screenings and 6 international animation prizes over the past few years. We also have Maya specialists on hand to develop the latest techniques with this highly regarded software and plans to develop short courses in this and other software.

Motion capture

Motion Capture or Mocap is a technique that records the movement performed by a human subject as computerised motion data. By tracking key points on a subject, three-dimensional images can be animated with realistic motion, in real time. Once captured, this data can then be used to create animated characters in computer games, film, video or television, saving hours of animation time.

The exciting thing about our Access Mocap system is that the software and hardware is of a unique design that allows directors of action sequences to have full creative input into the capture process.
